The key to success in toilet training is to motivate your child through praise. Whenever your child does well, praise him or her immediately. Even if your child fails, if he or she can tell an adult that he or she has to pee or poop, remember to praise him or her: "Thank you for telling me that you have to pee or poop. If your child can walk to the restroom on his/her own, praise him/her: "You can walk to the restroom on your own, that's great!
